Re: CWB v4.05.1 Updates

Thank you Sir for the ever swift reply. In effect therefore, if scenario PBEM files are being swapped back and forth between Confederate players in an MP style game, as described in my previous, the fact one player is using butternut color in their game whilst another is using grey in theirs, has no...

CWB v4.05.1 Updates

Gentlemen, Another quick n stupid question I fear. The release of the above update now defaults the in game Confederate uniform color to that of being grey as opposed to butternut. I'm aware that the grey color may be changed, as an option, back to butternut by a player if desired. My question is mu...

Game of the Week - Midway

Many thanks to WDS, for both depleting my wallet but in so doing, allowing me to secure Midway on the promotion. The Game of the Week is an absolutely fantastic idea and hits a sweet spot & gap between their bi-annual sales, IMHO.

Re: Midway vs Carriers At War

I didn't play Carriers at War, but I did play Carrier Strike. To each their own, but the strength of Midway in my very biased opinion is that it really puts a focus on the time element of air ops. Everything takes time, and you have to manage it carefully to be successful. Your very biased opinion ...

Re: The answer is likely no, but... Steam

I would agree with _Martin_here. We all want our games at the best price possible ! But having spent our hard earned bucks (euros) we want to know 'they are ours' forever. Once installed on the HD, no one is removing them or taking them away. In addition and in favour of, and indeed thanks to WDS an...

Re: Artillery Ammunition...

A question please, Sir, How long is it your intention to allow this poll run ? Wasn't planning on "closing" it. I've already gathered the info I was after... if people wish to continue to post that's fine. I hadn't intended to engage in any debate about implementation, etc. however. It's ...

Re: Artillery Ammunition...

Something that has been churning around in my head for a while, so going to do an "unofficial" poll to gauge interest. Artillery ammunition. I'm specifically thinking of the Napoleonic Battles games, but can apply to any pre-twentieth century title. I think having "discrete" amm...

Re: Artillery Ammunition...

There has been a wealth of information posted on this thread and in my opinion each and every one is valid. Everyone has their own opinion and views on matters such as this and no matter how much it’s discussed those views will probably remain unchanged, and that is fine too, I believe. My final obs...

Re: Artillery Ammunition...

This is an endless rathole to go down as it takes something tedious that is already at a correct level of abstraction for the existing operational level of the game and creates a subgame of artillery ammo allocation. What is being forgetten is that each wargame game engine is optimized to reproduce...
