Re: A peek at SB The Forgotten War
Really looking forward to this one, the Korean war is a big favorite of mine. Your work doesn't disappoint, Warhorse!

Re: Opponent for Renaissance
I have a fair bit of experience in M&P, and willing to play. If you would rather wait and see if another newbie shows up thats fair.

Re: Is Renaissance Worth It?
A few thoughts on how to use cav skirmishers: 1) Look for their victory point value. This determines how aggresive you can be with them should they be lost. 2) Strike hard and fast where the enemy is weak. Use those movement points to concentrate fire and get some enemy disrupts/routs. 3) If you are...

Re: TYW questions regarding block and line melee
There are no melee modifiers that favour block against line. When you read "1:1 Musket-Pike" in the unit description, this in itself means nothing. It is simple the name given to a particular weapon type. To understand what fire value this gives a unit, you have to look in the parameters w...

Re: Is Renaissance Worth It?
It is worth it, even if you only have a passing interest in the era covered, imho. You get by far the longest space of time covered in any WDS title in this single title, roughly 1500-1600. Each battle has it's own approach given that there are so many nations, tactics and weapons covered. On the ot...

Re: RE: fatigue accumulation
Thanks for your comment TheGrayMouser, I do believe I initally misread the morale test rule, thinking morale tests were capped at max 250-man units instead of a minimum. This goes some way to limit the usefulness of small units. In regards to smaller units later on in the war(s), I do believe some o...

Re: RE: fatigue accumulation
This is a good example to illustrate the issue. It really cannot be overstated how big an advantage armies with many smaller units have. In the example this tercio has been trough 2 successfull melees but their effectiveness is destroyed, although they still maintain 82% of their original complement...

RE: fatigue accumulation
I recently bought TYW, and it is an amazing title! However one issue sticks out a lot to me. In regards to big units, like certain massive imperial tercios, the fatigue they accumulate in massively disproportionate to the amount of men they contain. The obvious effect of this is that they are much l...

Re: Armor calculation
Thanks Warhorse for the response. I'm going to give an example: The M60A3 Patton has 75mm hull side armor and roughly 140mm turret side armor. Average comes out to 108mm 108 * 1,5 = 162 front armor value 108 * 0,75 = 81 rear armor value Actual front armor value for the M60A3 Patton: 230mm front hull...

Armor calculation
Work is progressing on my Ukraine mod, but I could use some help! What kind of factors go into the armor value of vehicles? It makes sense for vehicles with 1-20 armor value, which matches the average mm armor value of front, side and rear hull of given vehicles. But why does a M60 Patton have 72 ar...
