Re: Supply line question, Virtual Supply Trucks
Non-penetrated minefields do block supply. Are you sure the minefield in your test isn't penetrated? A Ditch blocks movement like a Canal hexside, according to the manual...but that doesn't apply to supply tracing. A Canal hexside blocks supply, a Ditch doesn't. When I tested it 5 years ago (I ...

Re: Supply line question, Virtual Supply Trucks
50 movement cost is a low amount. I'm not sure what the weather effect, if any, is. An impassable hexside might actually be a good thing as far as supply tracing is concerned. If, say, ground conditions are Mud with a 400% MP modifier for motorized movement, I'd expect the supply drop to be 4 points ...

Re: Supply line question, Virtual Supply Trucks
To clarify: non-penetrated minefields always block supply, not just on roads. Though they don't have a ZOC, they might prevent supply from tracing to adjacent hexes in combination with enemy ZOCs or river/canal hexsides.

Re: Supply line question, Virtual Supply Trucks
Playing a scenario with Escarpment hexsides, impassable by all unit types, Antitank Ditches (unblown), impassable by all non-foot/"on foot" units, and Rough terrain (hexes), prohibited to all but foot units or units "on foot". We are using "Virtual Supply Trucks". We've read the manual section, but ...

Re: Corps Attachment Example
Yep the Corps Attachment was always a bit tricky to understand and use. However the change to the Organisation Chart (Alt Q) makes it a bit easier to use now since this can be left open when the Corps Attachment (Alt C) is opened. This is a very nice change and makes things a lot easier for players ...

Re: Isolation
Is that screenshot from #0904_01_Antwerp? Did you take the screenshot at the start of your turn/the AI turn, without any movement? Are other German units Isolated as well? I don't see it either based on the screenshot. There are 4 German supply sources and even if Irregulars block the 3 in the north ...

Re: Corps Attachment Example
I always use it, every improved roll related to HQ's can help. In combat, the only advantages are air (if any) and artillery units being able to strike targets spotted by units belonging to that Corps/Army and either no or a reduced penalty when units of a certain formation are used in an assault ...

Re: Poland 39 Hype Thread
Besides prolonging the campaign with a better defensive strategy, I don't think Poland had a chance militarily even if the Soviets didn't invade, unless the French were more serious about invading Germany. Arguably, the situation at the front after the forces near the (north-/south-)western border ...

Re: Unit Type question
In some cases, it will indeed just define the counter. In others, it will also define the rules used by the specific unit, for example how many movement points it costs to switch to Travel mode or an anti-tank unit not being fired upon when switching to T-mode if it's the only unit in the hex.

Re: East Prussia '14 - 2nd Masurian Lakes Central Powers AAR
Turn 81, 06:00 17th of February 1915, Soft conditions. Good weather again. It makes assaulting easier as all units can move and assault in Clear or Field terrain, but it also makes it much easier for the remaining Russian units to withdraw into the forested terrain east of Augustow. https://i.imgur ...
