Re: Best games for solo play
Any game where one side is 90% on defense and/or with lots predominantly small to medium scenarios. AI is sufficient to handle only small actions/complexity. For me the only two that I could honestly recommend would be Minsk'44, Korsun'44 and Scheldt'44. They have quite a few smaller scenarios and u...

Re: Suggestion for Optimizing Solo Play
Playing both sides is thrme only option if you cannot do PvP. AI is terrible and will not be improved much. It dies OK on small/medium maps and short scenarios but anything more complex and all its "dumbness" becomes painfully obvious. The element of surpise I find very exaggerated by play...

Re: AI comments and questions
The problem with AI programming in hex based games is the lack of frontline which is "replaced" with VP. In reality such places didn't exist per se. The axis of attack was driven by the tactical (say a key bridge) or strategical (an important city-hub like Bastogne). The VP were originally...

Re: Arnhem 44?
Market-Garden would make for a much smoother experience with Panzer Battles engine. This here is just one of the reasons why. Well there is a Command Ops for that. I remember that in the board version the zones were limited in city squares. Thus the units can easily pass next to each other and you ...

Re: Arnhem 44?
This is only playable with the House Rules where ze Germans cannot move anything for the first two turns. Otherwise they will block. The issue is with the engine. It does not allow units to pass each other because of the zone of controls. Which is applicable with almost no limitations. On the other ...

Re: How Would You Define 'Distrupted' ?
Exactly. The answer is right in the manual on page 57. A unit that is Disrupted represents a unit has been made less combat effective because it has been exposed to very heavy fire. This represents the fact that control of the formation has been reduced, thus reducing fire effect of the unit as a w...

Re: How Would You Define 'Distrupted' ?
... I do understand the engine limitations but trying to prove a broken game by tampering with military terms is more than tad silly. Do you have a reference for the military terms disrupted and broken? In my time with the US Marines, we talked about disrupting the overall battlefield, but not defe...

Re: How Would You Define 'Distrupted' ?
Disrupted should mean a unit who cannot efficiently perform it's tasks like shelk-shocked. In the past this was equal to routed. What JTS implemented is absurd. A unit go directly from ace to routed. This needs an overhaul as currently unit status is not even close to real thing. To put things in h...

Re: Panzer Campaigns: Invasion of Tōkyō
How on Earth 5 days into the US invasion the Japs air and naval losses are zero?
I would expect ferocious kamikaze attacks in such scenario.
