Here is a new graphics mod for Campaign Shiloh.
It is a bit of an offshoot of the "Old Banshee" mods from 10-15 years ago.
Notes and Installation instructions are available in the download package
Please make sure you're utilizing the latest WDS version of this game, and have backed up your files before overwriting OOB's, and Leader and Unit artwork.

Goal of the Mod:
Provide a little more historical flavor through:
1) "Old Banshee" style unit graphics
2) Unit nicknames (where appropriate)- things like 12th Illinois "1st Scotch" or 55th Illinois "Canton Rifles."
3) Ethnic Unit indicators - for regiments of heavy Irish or German descent. (Little Irish 4 Leaf Clover icon or German Eagle icon)
4) Improved some Leader images that I was involved with 10-15 years ago but was never really happy with (still more work can be done there)

A little question? How do you manage to change the oob Files data? It seems that there is a checksum which must fit, otherwise the game is corrupted.

I think they changed it so there is no longer a checksum on the oob.jimimadrid wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2024 9:20 am A little question? How do you manage to change the oob Files data? It seems that there is a checksum which must fit, otherwise the game is corrupted.
You can change the numbers of the unit pics on the oob now and the game will still run okay.
I am currently modding ( and using ) the units bitmaps on Antietam and Peninsula and they run fine.

The OOB's were locked at one time but this was removed with the release of Overland I believe and the subsequent updates to the other games in the series.jimimadrid wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2024 9:20 am A little question? Before you go messing around with the .oob files take a look at the oob explained.pdf file in the manuals.
It explains the structure of the file and cautions you on what not to do and possible problems you can introduce when editing it.
