Eagles Strike 4.031 Beta

Hi Everyone,

We are releasing a public beta for Eagles Strike today. This is the game exe only.

We have determined the cause of the lag reported in this thread: viewtopic.php?t=1723

We have corrected the issue and tidied up a few other issues, including the time the bombardment markers remain on-map as well as correcting some logging issues.

Can you please report back in this thread if it corrects (or otherwise) your lag issues? Please do back up your current game ES.exe before replacing it. If you see any issues do not hesitate to let us know. Assuming a positive response this version will be used as the basis to update the other titles.

One other comment regarding the lag, it will be more noticeable on a zoomed out map and less so when zoomed in. We did all our testing on the 2D mid-level zoom (hotkey 2).

Thank you again for all that flagged the issue. After so many weeks of testing we had missed the change in behaviour.

Thanks for picking this up so quickly.

The Google Drive link doesn't work for me - it seems to have been taken down for breach of Terms of Service according to the link text:

Sorry team,

As usual, trying to do things quickly causes more drama than needed. As this was an exe only download, the various antivirus controls are flagging it as 'suspicious'.

I have now gone and created a patch that should pass muster.

The download link in the first post has been updated to link to the patch. The instructions should be self explanatory and consistent with previous WDS patches.

Edit - the link is now on AWS as Google continued to get upset....
