Alternate Fire Density

I would be interested to know how veteran players feel about the "Alternate Fire Density" optional rule.

I always prefer to play with Alternative Fire Density selected. Otherwise mopping up the last survivor of a decimated squad can just become too time consuming and that doesn't feel very real to me. Having said that, it would be quite easy to argue the opposite position and I imagine that's why its an optional rule.
