2D/3D Map Mod

Post by Bigus »

2D/3D Mod for Advance of the Reich, Eagles Strike, Red Victory, The Proud and the Few, Tour of Duty and the Grenada Demo.
I'm not sure if this mod will work with any other title.

Note: If using JSGME, delete all older versions before installing the new version.

Edit 03_12_24: Revised desert terrain for versions 2.5 and 3.3.

Version 2.5: for SB 4.0 and lower

Version 3.3: for SB version 4.01 and higher

3D Chit Mod:
Note: You must unzip this file into a temp folder first (example: Downloads folder) to extract separate zip files. After that you can send one of the files to the MODs folder of your installation
You do not need the 2D/3D mod to use the 3D chits. This is a standalone mod.

Added 2D Symbols as an alternate addon. Similar to panzer campaigns but with a bit of a twist.

New version 2.3. Consolidated desert and jungle terrain into one file with the main mod. They are in separate folders named Desert and Jungle. The program should pick the correct terrain for the scenario. I discovered this by mistake while testing new desert 3D buildings. It seems to work with the Grenada Demo and Warhorses Mod. There does seem to be problems with Rice Paddies in 3D however. Feedback would be greatly appreciated for other titles.
Note that this is a terrain only mod. You will not see units in 3D mode for certain titles.

I've added an alternate folder to my mod (link above) based on Sean's excellent idea over at the Blitz here: https://www.theblitz.club/message_board ... ?tid=75955

This adds 3D chits to the Grenada demo. It's work in progress as always. You must enable the main mod first before the 3D unit alternate folder.

I Also did a quick test for AOTR which has 3D units but I wanted to check it out. I used basic NATO symbols for the vehicles on this one. Works O.K.

Looks really nice! I think it would also work well with the heads...

I would prefer to do a silhouette. I'm not a big fan of the existing faces. We'll see what happens with the new update. From the pictures they look good.
I might "borrow" some of those ones and use them.
