Thanks for the reply. So there's no negative implication suffered from continuing to use a disrupted unit, i.e that doesn't prevent moving to normal status?
No, they will move slower and less effective fire, but good to use!
Thanks Warhorse.
Generally speaking for a unit moving over open terrain towards the enemy (where this is necessary) which becomes pinned, am I best moving that unit back to a leader in cover to rally, albeit it will become demoralised when moving to that position, or moving the leader up to rally in place?

It depends on the circumstances...if you have other units advancing that can draw enemy fire then you might want to move the leader up to rally. Just be aware that a leader stacked with a unit is more vulnerable to enemy fire while stacked.

I'm not aware of this effect... do you have a specific rule in mind? As far as I know leaders get their low density benefit regardless of whether they're alone or stacked with other units.

I agree, it depends on the situation. I generally move leaders to the front, but sometimes the best course of action is to pull back and regroup in a safe place. The upside is that Demoralized units can use their full movement allowance to retreat.

HA! I knew I'd draw scrutiny on that statement. Perhaps. But I know that if I have a sniper and he has an LOS/LOF to a stack with an officer, I take the shot because more times than not he gets taken out. Always best to keep leaders alone and to the rear but again it depends on the situation.

Ah! A sniper changes things. Sniper weapons work by cancelling the Leaders' density effect.

Also keep in mind, a lone leader near an enemy unit is a very tempting target for assault as it is amost an automatic kill.

Of course. But I see the general same effect when I fire with a squad. Seeing a stack of units with a leader is a prime target and is always at the top of my targeting list of priorities.
