Yes, there are so many historical battles to choose from. I just hope the series stays medieval. I'm' all for a separate ancient series as well! Hoping it includes both, ancient warfare and gladiatorial combat. That would truly be something different, historically correct and interesting.

Yes, playing quasi-historical fantasy battles would be great.
Sadly getting the LotR or Warhammer IPs would probably be far too expensive and doing the writing for completely new universe/lore is a huge effort.

I am biased and would say Byzantine-Bulgarian wars. Or why not the Arab siege of Constantinople and the battle between the Bulgarians of Khan Tervel and the Arabs at the gates of the jewel of the medieval world.

I can say that the Crusader siege of Constantinople is coming with Book II.
