Playing the Germans at Kursk in the scenario depicting the northern pincer. Carefully moved my engineers into the minefields but then foolishly attempted a carpet bombing of frontline Russian units along the road to Ponyri (my main point of effort). The strike missed badly and hit one of my engineer units instead -- reducing it by 32 men.
I'm sure I've had worse things happen but I can't recall one as painful as this.
Worst thing to happen in a single PzC turn

Yeah carpet bombing is definitely a double-edged sword!

Not inspecting enough the map, arriving in front of a light bridge with tanks, and swamps on both sides of the road.
Mistakes like these (when it's not picking up the wrong engineers or omitting to bring them at the right place where all the other units are over stacked) happen to me quite often on maps with hazardous terrain like Japan or Netherlands ... :/
