When playing as the Germans against the Russian AI with Automatic FOW all of the German and Russian Objective values are zero?! Not sure how to proceed...

I believe that's working as intended. In PzB objective points are only accrued by the first player, and under FOW they are hidden to the opponent. In the scenario you mention the Russians go first, so to the Germans all objectives will display a 0 (they don't know how much they're worth to the Russians).
