Ancient battles

Post by wargamer67 »

It would be nice if the pike and musket game engine was used for ancient battles from like the Greek, Roman and medieval periods. I know HPS has some ancient battle games, but I prefer this game engine a lot more. Any chance of that happening ?

Would enjoy exploring pre Renaissance battles/campaigns the WDS way!

I've always wanted WDS/JTS games from Marathon to the Fulda Gap!

The Attack Movement rule (shift + right click) would fit very well for depicting ancients, specially hoplite and phallanx warfare, and even for "barbarian" armies. I think that once the army was deployed, this Attack Movement must be mandatory (moving the formation as one unique block). Roman units would be more mobile, of course...

Actually not ancient, but I would like to see some of the battles of feudal Japan (16th century Sengoku Period). Lots to choose from there.
