[Snip Snip]
This would be marvelous because I have absolutely zero interest in SB Pacific War but I would love to play the "War in Africa"-mod.
Since I don't know yet where left and right is when it comes to these games, I wonder if the tilesets could be a problem? [Snip snip]
I will check this tomorrow and see if it works with another title, which one were you most interested in getting? I have them all so I can run a quick trial for you and let you know if it works in whichever title you are most interested in.

The only problem is like with my mod, since it uses aotr as a base, Japanese have no banzai. Any special capabilities unique to a certain title may not carry over.

How very friendly of you!
After some testing I found out that RSoE works with the demo (!) of SB and War in Africa works partially (sometimes there is an error when I want to load in that the "Scenario failed to load"). I did had a quick look at the first German scenario of RSoE. Well... that was two hours ago. And I have to work tomorrow! What a great, great mod this is. In my opinion, someone should get in contact with IronX and make this an official part of the series. I have only had a quick look at some of the other scenarios and my God, it has been a long time that a mod blew me away like this.

Other mods I am interest in are the Arab-Israeli Wars and The Long War --- both for SB Soviet-Afghan War. But as I am adamant to get that game anyway, there should be no problem.

Leaves only the World at War mod. Maybe you could check it that one works with the Soviet-Afghan War?

EDIT: Nevermind, I got the World at War mod up and running! I've deleted all vanilla .oob and .scen files and it worked! Even the Arab-Israeli mod works now. Which leaves only the "The Long War" mod. Every scenario I load causes "error reading scenario file".

On a different note: I am so enthusiastic about the RSoE mod because it has such good vehicle combat. Or vehicles at all. In the Grenada demo I have encountered no vehicle at all so far and it's been a drag, exchanging potshots for many turns in a row. So what would you consider the Squad Battles with the most vehicles inside? It doesn't matter if WW2 or post-WW2.

I see. With the mods I've named above there is definitively something causing a scenario failing to load. But then again, I am just trying around with the free demo here.

By the way, your SBWW2 mod seems insane, absolutely insane. And I mean that in a good sense.

The most vehicles? Undoubtedly Mikes SBWW2 mod, over 800!!
Of the standard games, I would say they are all pretty much the same the OOB's have been researched thoroughly so you can follow the line of history to find what you are looking for. I would say probably Red Victory if you want plenty of Tank on Tank.

If you like pushing armour around, have you had a look at the Panzer Battles series ? a step up in scale from SB but with more units on the map there is more armour to push around, The battle of Kursk perhaps?

Yes! I've turned on my brain last night and tapped in the little historical knowledge I got. And obviously, the most tanks would be in the late Eastern or Western Front, and so they are. It will now be either Eagles Strike or Red Victory. Especially when I saw that both games encompass such a WIDE variety of battles and timelines.
I also stumbled on the SBWW2 mod and it blew my mind just reading the data, haha. Downloaded it right away.

The problem is that I am not particularily interested in the Panzer Battles series right now, or rather: why should I choose PB Kursk Southern Flank over PC Kursk complete?
I know there is a huge difference in scale and hexes etc. So I now have to find out by playing the demos with which I feel more comfortable.

Thank you very much for your answers!

The Demo is locked down intentionally... you're not going to get a bunch of free mods to run on the free demo... we are an active business try to keep things going after all. Just sayin... :P

Of course! Since the mods only work partially with the demo, I think you can consider this a demo of the mods. In any case, it was a nice showcase how mods look like for the Squad Battles. In the end, it made me want to buy them even more ;)
