Mod Ferraris 4.07

Post by jmartin »

This mod is my small contribution to these great games that give us so many good times.

The mod is based on a true marvel of cartography, the 1777 Ferraris map of Belgium. A map of impressive detail and accuracy, said to have been used by Napoleon during the Waterloo campaign.

I have tried to adapt the aesthetics of the map 2D, within the great limitations of the game's graphics engine and my limited competence in graphic design, seeking to improve the appearance and readability of the game's maps. I have also modified the representation of the units to adapt it to what was used at the time, trying to make both the formation and the facing of the units easy to see.

I hope you like it and do not hesitate to comment on the aspects that could be improved.

Edited: To install the mod you just have to copy the graphic files in the Map folder of the game directory. Since version 4.03, 3 sets of chips are provided for the units that can be selected in the "Settings" menu. For easier installation of the mod, the unit files are prepared to replace the "Block" set. If you prefer to replace another set, you must change the names of the files to those of the set you want to replace before copying them to the "Map" directory.

Compatible with version 4.07 of all Napoleonic games:

Thanks!

I'd forgotten how much I loved this mod when I had it on my old laptop...

An awesome mod indeed! The same with the one for 7YW!
It's the only mod that makes the 2D view enjoyable for me! Both the maps and the 2D units are awesome!

Just tested to reapply this mod to Campaign Waterloo after installing the 4.03 update released today. It seems that the maps work fine with the 4.03 version of the game. However the 2D-units does not. They simply doesn't show up. And I guess that has to do with the file name changes in the new update.

Will the mod be updated to work with 4.03?

Have a great weekend, guys!

I've been using this 2D mod for a while even though I play in 3D. It's great for an overview and looks like a real map from the period. Perfect!
